2011 Adopted Dogs

"Hilton" came to DunRoamin' on December 29, 2010 from the Woodstock area.  He had come to a home that already had three dogs, and due to health conditions, the family could not care for another.  Hilton was about three months old and is a Lab/Collie mixed breed.  He's a beautiful little boy, and he's very healthy.

He stayed with Dr Drost and Larry, their pack of dogs, and two other foster dogs while he waited for a permanent home.

On January 3, 2010, Hilton was welcomed into a home in Oakland where he'll live happily with the young couple who will share their life with him.  Congratulations!
"Sue" came to us on January 13, 2011 from The Ark Sanctuary in Houlton where he had been rescued from a hoarder-type establishment where he had been kept in a cellar.  He and several littermates had fleas, earmites and worms but were otherwise healthy.  Sue and four of his siblings were saved, and his siblings had already been placed in homes.  We hoped to help Sue find his place with a loving family.

On January 19, 2011, it was learned that Sue will live in a home in Moncton with three children who will love him forever.

On December 19, 2010, two dogs came to DunRoamin' from the Tilley area. "Christmas" was one of them.  She appears to be a Cocker Spaniel/Border Collie mixed breed, and she's about four and a half years old.  She is in good physical condition.  She came to DunRoamin' because the family that had originally rescued her could no longer care for her due to health problems.

Christmas is a beautiful little girl with wonderful manners.  She's small, friendly and loving.  She was fostered by a DunRoamin' supporter in Currie Siding until . . .

. . . January 20, 2011, when she met a family from Waasis who had seen her on this website and just knew she was intended to be part of their family.  Chrissy is the only pet of a family of four young boys.  She's already fit herself into the family and is doing great!

"Marsha" originally came from the Beaconsfield area on November 25, 2010, where she had developed Parvovirus, a deadly and terrible disease which may be contracted by unvaccinated dogs.  She was very sick with vomiting and bloody diarrhea, and was in danger of being euthanized due to financial restrictions.  She also had fleas and worms.

Marsha was rescued and brought to DunRoamin' where she was treated with intensive care by Dr Monteith, and under Becky's determined efforts quickly became well.  This terrible disease could have been easily avoided by one simple vaccination.  Marsha was fostered by Dr Drost, and is a fawn and black Sharpei and Mastiff cross, and she's only about eight months old.  She's a lovely little girl who loves people.  On December 23, 2010, she was adopted, but was returned on January 21, 2011 due to allergies in the family.

On January 27, 2011, Marsha found her permanent family.  She will now live in Bath and be the best friend of a lady and her mother, and will reap the benefits of pure heaven!  Congratulations, Marsha!
This is "Raquel." On January 28, 2011, six beautiful puppies came to DunRoamin'.  A stray had been dropped off in the Moose Mountain area and had become pregnant.  The people who were caring for her could not afford to add six more dogs to their family, so the six came to DunRoamin' to get help.  They appear to be Lab/Border Collie mixes.

Raquel, Rebecca (females), Ross, Roy, Roary and Rochester were about seven to eight weeks old and very healthy.  They're exceptionally cute and have been well socialized and love people

On January 29, 2011, Raquel went to her new home in Woodstock.  Congratulations to the entire family!
Meet "Rochester." On January 28, 2011, six beautiful puppies came to DunRoamin'.  A stray had been dropped off in the Moose Mountain area and had become pregnant.  The people who were caring for her could not afford to add six more dogs to their family, so the six came to DunRoamin' to get help.  They appear to be Lab/Border Collie mixes.

Rochester, Raquel, Rebecca, Ross, Roy and Roary were about seven to eight weeks old and very healthy.  They're exceptionally cute and have been well socialized and love people.

On January 29, 2011, a young couple came to meet the puppies, and Rochester decided that he'd like to go home with them.  He and his family live in Good Corner.  Congratulations to everyone!

"Ellis" originally came from the Centreville area on January 11, 2011, where he was a stray who was picked up by Animal Control.  When no one claimed him and his time was up, he was due to be euthanized.  Our help was requested, as no one deserves that fate just because they're looking for a family to love.  He'd committed no crime.

Ellis is a beautiful two-year old boy who appears to be a Shepherd/Sharpei mix.  He loves both cats and dogs.  He takes treats very delicately, so has obviously been part of a family, perhaps with children.  He loves to stand on his hind legs to look around and see what's happening!   He had an ear infection which was treated.

On January 31, 2011, Ellis went to live with a lady in Hartland who also has a 6-month old Chocolate Lab named Bella who loves Ellis already.  They also have a young child with whom they will grow up.  Congratulations, Ellis!

This is "Roy." On January 28, 2011, six beautiful puppies came to DunRoamin'.  A stray had been dropped off in the Moose Mountain area and had become pregnant.  The people who were caring for her could not afford to add six more dogs to their family, so the six came to DunRoamin' to get help.  They appear to be Lab/Border Collie mixed-breed puppies.

Roy, Raquel, Rebecca, Ross, Roary and Rochester were about seven to eight weeks old and very healthy.  They're exceptionally cute and have been well socialized and love people.

On January 31, 2011, Roy met the lady who will change his life forever.  He now lives with her in Hartland.  Congratulations to both of you!
Meet "Rebecca." On January 28, 2011, six beautiful puppies came to DunRoamin'.  A stray had been dropped off in the Moose Mountain area and had become pregnant.  The people who were caring for her could not afford to add six more dogs to their family, so the six came to DunRoamin' to get help.  They appear to be Lab/Border Collie mixes.

Rebecca and her siblings Roy, Raquel, Ross, Roary and Rochester were about seven to eight weeks old and very healthy.  They're exceptionally cute and have been well socialized and love people.

On February 1, 2011, Rebecca met a young boy and her excitement was so great that it was obvious she was meant to be part of his family.  She'll live with him and his family in Fredericton.  Congratulations, Rebecca!
This is "Ross." On January 28, 2011, six beautiful puppies came to DunRoamin'.  A stray had been dropped off in the Moose Mountain area and had become pregnant.  The people who were caring for her could not afford to add six more dogs to their family, so the six came to DunRoamin' to get help.  They appear to be Lab/Border Collie mixes.

Ross and his siblings Raquel, Rebecca, Roary, Roy and Rochester were about seven to eight weeks old and very healthy.  They're exceptionally cute and have been well socialized and love people.

On February 1, 2011, Ross was introduced to a family in Woodstock which includes a teen-aged boy and another rescued dog.  His new life began today!
Meet "Roary." On January 28, 2011, six beautiful puppies came to DunRoamin'.  A stray had been dropped off in the Moose Mountain area and had become pregnant.  The people who were caring for her could not afford to add six more dogs to their family, so the six came to DunRoamin' to get help.  They appear to be Lab/Border Collie mixes.

Roary and his siblings Raquel, Rebecca, Ross, Roy and Rochester were about seven to eight weeks old and very healthy.  They're exceptionally cute and have been well socialized and love people.

On February 2, 2011, Roary met a couple who lives in Centreville.  He'll live with them, and will be an uncle to Bob, renamed Hector, another ex-DunRoamin' stray who was adopted in November, 2008.  We're so happy for you, Roary.  Have a great life!
"Blair" came to DunRoamin' on January 4, 2011, from Oakland, where she had originally found a home after being found full of porcupine quills, but the man did not want to keep her.

Blair is a brown and white Boxer, and is about four and a half years old.  She is full of energy and loves to run.  She is currently staying in a wonderful foster home in Oakland where she's enjoying the love and company of a couple and two great teenagers.

On February 5, 2011, Blair, now known as Sasha, was officially adopted into her foster home.  She lives happily with two adults and two teens, all of whom love her dearly.
This is "Dunham." On April 15, 2010, Dunham came to DunRoamin' from the Plaster Rock area where he had been a stray.  He's about two years old, and was already neutered, so he had belonged to someone who cared about him, but those people could not be found.  An elderly couple had taken him in, but unfortunately, the husband passed away shortly afterward, and his wife was having a very difficult time caring for him on her own.  She asked DunRoamin' for help.

Dunham was accepted, and was found to be in decent health, although he was thin and had worms, which were easily treated.  He loves people and is very playful.  He's put on weight, and has proven himself to be a smart, kind and intelligent little boy.  He was fostered by Dr Drost, Larry and their pack until . . .

. . . February 11, 2011 when he officially became a permanent family member.  Renamed "Jerry," he's made himself an integral part of their pack, and will live happily ever after in Riverbank.  Congratulations, Jerry.
Meet "Ross." On January 28, 2011, six beautiful puppies came to DunRoamin'.

They have been well socialized and love people.  Ross was adopted on February 1, 2011, but the older female dog with whom he would live did not approve of him, so he came back to find another home.

On February 21, 2011, Ross found that home.  He now lives in Jacksonville with Hattie, another ex-DunRoamin' Stray, and several feline friends, many of whom are also ex-DunRoamin'. Congratulations to the entire family!
"Mabel" came to DunRoamin' on January 31, 2011, Mabel came to DunRoamin'.  She is a four-month old stray who was found wandering near Hartland. She was healthy, but was covered with scratches.

Mabel is a beautiful little puppy who shows traits of a Pittbull.  She is adorable.  She's happy, friendly, energetic, loves people and is full of fun.  She stayed in a foster home until . . .

. . . February 18, 2011, when she was adopted by a couple who lives in East Brighton.  Her family includes this couple, their 10-year old Rottie, and their three-year old son, with whom Mabel is in love!  Congratulations!

On March 8, 2011, "Christmas" was returned to DunRoamin' from Waasis.  The family that had adopted her were unable to give her the time and exercise she required, and she was very unhappy.  She needs to be part of a family where she can interact and be loved and cared for.

Christmas originally came to us on December 19, 2010, and was adopted on January 20, 2011.  She appears to be a Cocker Spaniel/Border Collie mix, and she's very friendly and outgoing.  She's about four and a half years old, and loves people.  She was fostered by the same loving family who fostered her when she came to us the first time, so we're sure she's feeling more secure and loved already.

On March 13, 2011,  we got the word!!  Her foster mother had been missing her when she was adopted the first time, and was very happy to have her back.  She's now a permanent member of the family we're sure she's been missing, too.  Congratulations to everyone.  Way to go, Chrissy!

"Link" originally came to us on October 23, 2010 from the Beardsley Road area of Woodstock, NB, where he was found running loose with a heavy 12-foot chain around his neck.  It had obviously been placed on him when he was a puppy, because his skin and fur had grown right up through the links, and his neck was bloody and infected.  His eyes were infected as well.  His injuries were immediately treated and he became healthy enough to be adopted on November 6, 2010 by a wonderful family.  However, due to circumstances beyond the control of both the family and Link, he came back to us on January 16, 2011.  Link is a Shepherd mix, and was probably born about April, 2009.  Link is a beautiful boy who loves the out-of-doors and plays happily in the snow at every opportunity, but he's always happy to come back inside with you.

On March 15, 2011, he was adopted by a family in Centreville that has two other dogs.  Congratulations, Link!  Please send us family photos.
"Lola" was found on January 16, 2011 running loose in the Johnville area, the same location in which Oakley was found.  She is about eight or nine months old, and may very well be related to Oakley, as she looks a lot like her and is the approximate age her puppies would be.  If you recall, when Oakley was found, she had milk, but numerous searches for her puppies failed to locate them.

Lola was in decent shape, but was in heat.  She was spayed as soon as possible.  She is a Shepherd mix, and weighs about 40 pounds.  Lola was fostered by her rescuers.  Thanks very much, Keisha and Jared.  Oakley will be so grateful to you once again.

On March 17, 2011, we learned that Lola and her rescuers/foster parents had bonded so closely that it was decided she should become a permanent member of their family.  Congratulations, Lola!  Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!
This is "Sabre." On March 8, 2011, six puppies came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area.  A dog had had nine puppies, and homes were badly needed.  We took six of them with the guarantee that all remaining dogs would be spayed or neutered.  These little ones were about seven weeks old and are Shepherd mixed breeds.  Their abdomens were distended with worms, they were very thirsty and cold, but they all have beautiful personalities. Seeley and Schroeder are males, and Sabre, Scandal, Stella and Sydney are females.

On March 17, 2011, some people came all the way from Nackawic to meet little Sabre, and she was everything they thought she'd be.  She now lives with them and their five-year old daughter in Nackawic.  Congratulations!
Meet "Sydney." On March 8, 2011, six puppies came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area. Seeley and Schroeder a re males, and Sydney, Sabre , Scandal and Stella  are females.

On March 18, 2011, Sydney had the pleasure of meeting the people who will be her new family.  She will now live in Gagetown with her family which also includes her new 18-pound canine friend!  Congratulations, Syd!
This is "Scandal." On March 8, 2011, six puppies came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area. Seeley and Schroeder a re males, and Scandal, Sabre, Scandal and Stella  are females.

On March 29, 2011, we learned that a young lady with whom Scandal was spending some time had decided that there was no way in the world she could give her up.  Scandal now lives in Woodstock where she enjoys the company of the entire family, including some ex-DunRoamin' cats she's learning to get along with!
"Brooklyn" came to DunRoamin' on February 26, 2011 from the New Denmark area where she had been abandoned at a home.  She's about one year old and is black and tan.  She is a 45-pound mixed breed - maybe some Rottie.

The ends of both Brooklyn's ears were swollen and scabbed, as was the tip of her tail.  All were bloody, obviously frost-bitten.  She had been kept outside, and our winters are much too cold for any dog to live outdoors.

Brooklyn was in fair body condition except for flaky skin and long nails which required treatment.  She is a beautiful little girl who is friendly, loving and enjoys other dogs, kids and riding in cars.

On April 1, 2011, Brooklyn was adopted by a family in Perth-Andover.  She is a sister for one other dog in a very happy home.  Now renamed Bronte, she's finally realized her dream of a loving family!
Meet "Schroeder." On March 8, 2011, six puppies came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area. Schroeder and Seeley a re males, and Scandal, Sabre, Scandal and Stella  are females.

On April 29, 2011, Schroeder met a family from Centreville that already has two other dogs.  He fit perfectly into the family, and now lives there happily as a permanent family member.  Congratulations, Schroe!
This is "Stella." On March 8, 2011, six puppies came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area. Stella, Scandal, Sabre and Scandal are females. Schroeder and Seeley are males,

Stella was fostered by a wonderfully supportive lady in Woodstock until she went to a home for a visit to see if she'd like to live there permanently.  On June 2, 2011, Stella was officially invited to be a permanent member of that family in Kirkland.  Congratulations to the entire family!
"Solo" came to us on May 13, 2011 from the Perth-Andover area where he had been a stray.  He's a Shitzu-cross, and is about five years old.  Solo had fleas and a ruptured right eye which required surgery to remove.  He was able to recover quite nicely.

Solo is extremely gentle and sweet and is grateful to have someone to take care of him and love him.  He stayed in a foster home until . . .

June 2, 2011, when he was adopted by a lady in Stickney.  Congratulations, Solo!  Have a great life!  Send family pictures!
"Poppit" came to DunRoamin' from the Fredericton area on May 25, 2011.  Only about a year old, she is a spayed Shitzu.  Two days before she had been struck by a car and sustained three pelvic fractures.  As her owners could not manage the financial requirements of her surgeries, she was surrendered so that she would have a chance at recovery and a home.

Poppit will have to spend about two months in a kennel to ensure her fractures are healed properly, but then she'll be 100% good to go!  She is a sweetheart, and is looking forward to being able to run and play again.

On June 4, 2011, she was adopted by a lady from Bathurst.  Poppit will recuperate there and become a valued member of her new family. Congratulations!
On March 21, 2011, "Thor," a five-month old puppy was taken in by DunRoamin'.  He had suffered a broken right front leg when he jumped off a couch, and his owners were unable to take on the requirements of providing for his surgery and his recuperation.  Euthanasia became an option.  Thor weighs less than five pounds, and is a Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua mixed-breed puppy who is smaller than most cats!  He may have come from a puppy mill.  He was quite timid, and both his ears were infected.

Thor was referred to a vet in Keswick who inserted a plate in his leg on March 23.  This is an expensive surgery, and Thor required at least two months of recuperation.  Thor's surgery went well, and he was fostered by a Vet Tech to ensure he had the medical attention he required.  He eventually went to a foster home, and . . .

. . . on June 7, 2011, he officially became a full-fledged family member.  He will live in Hartland with his new family which includes a young girl who loves to take him for walks!
"Raquel" originally came to DunRoamin' on January 28, 2011 and was adopted out to a family in Woodstock on January 29.  However, she came back to us on April 4, 2011 due to the fact that they did not like some of her habits.  Raquel was fostered by Dr Drost and Larry and received the training any puppy requires and did exceptionally well.  She just needed to know what was expected of her!

Raquel was born about December 1, 2010, and is a beautiful and smart little puppy.  We believe her to be a Lab/Border Collie mix.  She learned quickly and eagerly as Border Collies do, and gets along very well with other dogs.

On June 13, 2011, she met a young man from Bristol, NB, and they decided they'd like to co-habitate!  Along with her new human, she will have the company of one other dog and five cats.  Congratulations!
"Keeper" came to DunRoamin' on June 24, 2011 when she was found wandering on the road in Fielding.  A concerned animal lover picked her up before she could be struck by a vehicle.

Keeper is a senior dog, perhaps at least eight years old.  It appears her coat has been sheered this year, so she is probably a member of a loving family.  We hope to find her family for her, or if that fails, we hope to find her a new home.  Keeper likes cats, is very quiet, loving and gentle.  She loves to be patted, and especially loves a good belly rub.

On June 27, 2011, Keeper's owners arrived to claim her.  They were happy to know she'd been kept safe, and are pleased to have her safely back home again.
"Rule" came  to DunRoamin' on June 15, 2011, from the Debec area where she was no longer wanted because she had snapped at a young girl who had hugged her.  She's about three years old, and is a Golden Retriever.  She was very well trained and knew such commands as sit, down, stay, shake, etc.

Other than being overweight, Rule was in good physical shape.  She has a very nice personality, and received some additional training while she was fostered by Dr Drost.

On July 8, 2011, Rule was adopted by a family in Florenceville who already has one Golden Receiver, so they are now the proud owners of The Golden Girls!
This is "Seeley." On March 8, 2011, six puppies came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area.  A dog had given birth to nine puppies, and homes were badly needed.  We took six of them on the guarantee that all remaining dogs would be spayed or neutered.

They were about seven weeks old and are Shepherd mixed breeds.  Their abdomens were extended with worms, they were very thirsty and very cold, but they all had beautiful personalities.  Seeley, and Schroeder are males, and Stella, Scandal, Sydney and Sabre are females.

On July 21, 2011, Seeley was welcomed into the home of a couple in Riverbank where he will have the life of which he's always dreamed.  Thanks for making him part of your family!
"Porter" came to DunRoamin' on May 3, 2011 from the Fredericton area.  He was due to be euthanized because he was nipping at the 14-year old son of his owners.

Porter is a Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix and is very typical of the breed.  He is an energetic, playful, boisterous little puppy who loves people.  He already has his Basic Obedience.  He's very cute and adorable, and he's only nine months old.

On July 21, 2011, Porter was adopted by a family from McLaughlin, NB, where he'll live happily ever after.  Congratulations to him and his new family.
This is "Kallie." On August 5, 2011, seven puppies were rescued from the Woodstock area and came to DunRoamin' when some kind people saw them on Kijiji.  They were told if the puppies were not gone by the end of the day, they would not survive.  They are Shepherd mixes. Kallie was one of them.

These puppies were only about five weeks old and were already weaned from their mother.  They were hungry, dehydrated and unusually quiet.  They were assessed by veterinary staff and found to be healthy.  They were extremely fortunate to be fostered by very, very kind people who took the best of care of them.  We're all very grateful.

On August 8, 2011, Kallie was the first puppy of the litter to be adopted.  She'll now live with a family in Killoween where she'll have the life she deserves.
Meet "Kai Diesel." On August 5, 2011, seven puppies were rescued from the Woodstock area and came to DunRoamin' when some kind people saw them on Kijiji.  They were told if the puppies were not gone by the end of the day, they would not survive.  They are Shepherd mixes. On August 11, 2011, Kai Diesel was adopted by a family in Woodstock.  He'll have the best of everything, just like that to which he has become accustomed at his foster home.  Good luck, and best wishes!
On August 5, 2011, seven puppies were rescued from the Woodstock area and came to DunRoamin' when some kind people saw them on Kijiji.  They were told if the puppies were not gone by the end of the day, they would not survive.  They are Shepherd mixes. "Kub" was one of them.

On August 11, 2011, Kub was adopted by a young couple in Woodstock.  She looks forward to living the dream!  Thanks for giving her a permanent and loving home.
"Stanley" came to us on June 4, 2011, when he was found wandering on the Dump Road between Bristol and Florenceville.  He was barely a year old, and is a mixed breed.  He was extremely terrified.

The young man who found him brought him for help, and as he is a hockey fan, the pup was named after the famous cup which is currently being battled for by Boston and Vancouver.

Stanley was fostered by Dr Drost and quickly overcame his timid nature.   He loved to interact with the other dogs and enjoyed himself immensely.

On August 13, 2011, Stanley attended the Adoption Fair at the Dooryard Arts event in Woodstock where he met a lady who invited him to be part of her family.  Stanley now lives permanently in Woodstock.

"Elizabeth" came back to DunRoamin' on July 11, 2011 from the Fredericton area where she had been very good with kids in her own family, but was nipping kids other than her own.  She and her seven siblings, collie/lab mixes, had originally come to us on May 12, 2010 from Saint Anne, NB when she was only six weeks old.  Her whole litter was due to be euthanized because there was no room in the shelter system.  She was originally adopted out on May 16, 2010.

Elizabeth simply needed a little training and to understand her role in the family.  She has received this training and is a beautiful little girl.  She looks forward to a second chance to make a family happy.

On August 19, 2011, Elizabeth was adopted into a family in Greenfield who has Elizabeth's sister, Anne. They'll now share this home. Congratulations!

"Bonnie" came to DunRoamin' on September 1, 2011. She's a two-year old Rottweiller, and is looking for a home that she will be able to share with her family. She's lived outdoors far too long and is looking for a new home.

Bonnie likes other dogs and most definitely likes people. She'd like to have a family with whom she can spend time and get lots of exercise. She was fostered in a home with several other pets, and she got along fine with everyone.

On September 22, 2011, Bonnie was adopted by a young lady who has been a DunRoamin' supporter for quite some time. She has another dog and several cats, and Bonnie is now the newest member. She'll live in Upper Kent now!

Bella, Tucker & Kokanee

On August 5, 2011, seven puppies were rescued from the Woodstock area and came to DunRoamin' when some kind people saw them on Kijiji.  They were told if the puppies were not gone by the end of the day, they would not survive.  They are Shepherd mixes. "Keeley Bella," "Kaede Tucker" and "Kokanee" were three of them.

These puppies were about five weeks old and were already weaned from their mother.  They were hungry, dehydrated and unusually quiet.  They were assessed by veterinary staff and found to be healthy. All puppies were fostered by an amazing family in Woodstock where they quickly became confident, loving companions.

On September 21, 2011, we learned that the foster family of these three would now be their permanent family. They could not have a better place to call home. Congratulations!

"Ross" came back to DunRoamin' on August 15, 2011 from Jacksonville where he had been adopted in February 2011. He was born in early December, 2010. Ross is a beautiful boy, who just needed a little training in how to co-habitate with other animals. He received this very quickly and he learned easily. He's a very nice little boy who appears to be part Border Collie and part Lab.

On November 5, 2011, Ross was adopted by a family in Bristol which has two young girls. Ross started a Hallowe'en tradition of going trick or treating with his young friends, and he dressed up as a black and white dog. He loves every second he spends with his young family, and he's grateful to be with them.

"Tristan" came to DunRoamin' on July 11, 2011, from the Debec area where he was due to be euthanized because he was aggressive toward other dogs.  He was only about a year and a half old, and he'd never been neutered, so that was the first order of business.  Tristan is doing much better already, and will do better still once his hormones have settled.

He's a very nice boy who's being fostered by a man who is great at training dogs and teaching him what he needs to know. He did very well, and . . .
