ADOPTED DOGS 2017

"Phoebe" came to DunRoamin' on May 30, 2017.  She had bladder stones and had not been groomed in a very long time.  Phoebe was born about May 30, 2011.

Phoebe is shy when first meeting someone, but it doesn't take her long to warm up to nice people at all.  She loves to snuggle under the blankets for belly rubs and has sudden bursts of energy when she is feeling comfortable and confident.  She is house trained and her bladder has been relieved of all those pesky bladder stones, so she feels so much better.

Phoebe is learning all about toys and loves to explore, as long as her trusted human is close by.  She loves to sit on laps.   Phoebe may be best suited in a home without small or disrespectful children as she may feel nervous of them.  She is a beautiful little girl who can't wait to have a loving, caring home.  She is so very grateful to her foster mother who has helped bring her out of her shell - she loves her!!

On June 19, 2017, Phoebe was adopted by a lady who lives in Florenceville.  Congratulations, Phoebe.  Please send us lots of photos of you and your new family!

Fauna underwent several surgeries to reduce the size of the volleyball-sized tumour and was spayed.  She recovered well and was fostered by a huge DunRoamin' supporter who also ensured she was groomed befitting her stature!  Thank you so much!

. . . on June 3, 2017, she was adopted by a family in Smithfield, NB, where she is the life of the party with the children who are so happy to have their first dog!  Fauna settled in easily and is now enjoying the huge amount of love and attention showered upon her!  Congratulations, Fauna!  Way to go!  Thanks to her adopter for helping her and giving her such a great home and family.

On January 7, 2017, Digby was adopted to a home in Upper Queensbury, NB, where he did not get along with the other dog in the home.  Digby did very well with all dogs he has met since his return.  He has learned many new things and is anxious to experience the security of a permanent home.

Freya is VERY high energy and will be best suited with a family who participates in regular daily activity and has a secure fenced yard.  Her favourite thing to do is RUN!  She adores all of her foster brothers and sisters, but she can be a bit much for the older and easily-spooked cats . . . especially when she decides to chase them.  Once she is adequately exercised, she will become stationary long enough for a brief cuddle and to refuel for her next energy explosion.

Freya is very smart and catches on quickly.  She is going to make a great addition to an active home willing to give her the patience and exercise she will need to be stable and happy.

Cheri also has arthritis in her left knee, right hip and spine, but with a few mobility supplements and medications, she is doing just fine.  She would like to have some nice, slow walks for exercise with her new family, of whom she dreams each day and night.  Cheri is a nice girl who is happy to be warm, pain free and have the care that she deserves.  She does not enjoy small animals, so should not be homed with cats or small dogs.  When she is chosen for a home and family, she hopes it will be with someone who can appreciate what she has been through and love her passionately for the remainder of her life.  She deserves that, at the very least.

Lettie was very fortunate to go home that night with a DunRoamin' friend who showed her patience, kindness and compassion.  She will be warm, safe, loved, receive lots of nutritious food and will continue to receive the medical attention she deserves and requires.  Perhaps this will be the Christmas that she gets her best wish - health, happiness, friendship and family.

Lettie was soon eating small amounts at a time and underwent tests to help determine what the problem may be.  She quickly began feeling more comfortable with her surroundings and with her foster mother and father - that's a very positive thing!  She had a great Christmas and is obviously flourishing - just look at her newest photo!

On January 8,2017, we learned that her foster parents could not ever dream of giving her up.  She trusts them, she loves them and they are more than willing to have her as part of their permanent family.  Congratulations, Lettie.  This is what it's supposed to be like.  You're finally home.  Thanks, Kate and Jeff.  You changed the world for her.

"Genevieve" came to us on December 28, 2016 from the Tobique area when her family was not able to care for her as she was one of 10 puppies.  She is a mixed-breed Rottie/Bernese Mountain dog who was born about October 2, 2016.

Genevieve had fleas and her skin had crusty sections over the back of her neck and chest, but otherwise she was perfect.  She was treated for her skin condition, vaccinated and received every other bit of care to ensure he was 100% healthy.  She will also be spayed.  Genevieve was very fortunate to go to a foster home where she experienced other dogs, cats and of course, human love, kindness and compassion.  What a wonderful start to her new life!

On January 7, 2017, Genevieve met a young couple with whom she will spend the rest of her life.  Now named Ruby, she has a canine sibling and her very own children to run, play and grow up with.  Congratulations, Ruby!  Your dream just became a reality!  Thanks to your new family.  Please make sure you send us lots of photos - your foster mother will be looking forward to seeing you grow up!

Rodney as a puppy!

"Digby" was accepted by DunRoamin' on December 15, 2016.  He was born approximately September 15, 2016 and was delivered from the Woodstock area where it was reported that he had been run over by a vehicle approximately two weeks earlier.  He was diagnosed as having a broken tibia and fibula in his left hind leg and head trauma which resulted in injury to his left eye.  He also had dandruff, fleas and worms, for which he was treated.  We were a little worried about his eye, but with a little medical care it quickly became fine.

Digby will receive vaccinations, be neutered and all other requirements to ensure he is safe, healthy and cared for.  He was fortunate to receive the care of a foster home where he was adored by two young children.

On January 7, 2017, Digby met a gentleman from Upper Queensbury who was interested in getting a friend for his other ex-DunRoamin' dog, Rodney (now named Marvel).  It was love at first sight and now Digby has a permanent home and a wonderful life to look forward to.  Congratulations!  Send us lots of photos!

"Earnest" came to us on December 18, 2016 from the Rowena area.  He did not have much for shelter or warmth in these cold December temperatures and was very happy to finally be warm and safe.  He had an ear infection which was treated.  He was born about December 15, 2014 and is a black German Shepherd mixed breed.

Earnest is very energetic, but very laid back.  He likes other dogs and would love to have someone to run and play with.  He definitely would like someone to help him get lots of exercise!

On January 5, 2017, Earnest was adopted by a nice couple from Douglas.  Earnest will now spend the rest of his life being warm, well-fed, pampered, spoiled and cared for beyond his wildest dreams.  Congratulations, Earnest.  Please send us lots of photos of you and your new home and family!
