PET MEMORIALS 2022

"They that love beyond the world cannot be separated. Death cannot kill what never dies. Nor can Spirits ever be divided
that love and live in the same Divine Principle; the Root and Record of their Friendship.
Death is but crossing the world, as Friends to the seas; they live in one another still." ~ William Penn

Halo

"Halo" came to DunRoamin' on December 21, 2022 from the Florenceville area, along with her sister Holiday. They were both part of a colony of cats that we have been trying to help/spay/neuter for quite some time. Sadly, Halo was in very poor shape when she arrived. Despite intensive veterinary care at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, Halo passed away on the morning of December 23, 2022. We are grateful that she was warm, safe, had medical care and knew love, if only for a short period of time. She will be missed.

Ilsa

"Ilsa" came to DunRoamin' came to us on August 18, 2022 from Windsor where she had been living near horses. She appeared not to be doing well.

Upon examination by her vet it was revealed that Ilsa had been born about March 19, 2022, so was only about five months old. These five months had not been good to her. Ilsa was underweight, had a large number of fleas and parasites, was incontinent and maggots were infesting part of her body. She needed help.

Ilsa is feeling much better, now that her parasites are all gone, she has a good, healthy diet, is warm, safe and loved. However, Ilsa is incontinent and will always run a strong risk of infection which will be very uncomfortable and hard on her. She will stay with her caregivers so that she can experience love, kindness and happiness for as long as possible. We'll keep you up to date.

We are so sad to report that on October 31, 2022, Ilsa left us. We will miss her loving purrs, playfulness and all the affection she showed to express her gratitude to her caregivers. We will never forget you, Ilsa. We'll see you again at Rainbow Bridge.

"Tulsa" came to DunRoamin' from Johnville on March 19, 2020. He had been dropped at a home in January and had been living in their bathroom since that time, but had been having watery diarrhea and needed medical attention which his rescuer could not provide. Tulsa was born about March 19, 2013, so was about eight years old when he came to us.

Examination by his new vet friend revealed that he had already been neutered, was in good body condition but had tartar and gum issues that required his teeth to be cleaned, as well as some extractions. Once that was completed, he felt much better! It didn't take him long to realize that he was warm, safe, fed and healthy with his new friends. He currently lives with eight other cats with whom he gets along very well. He is up to date on his vaccines and ready to go to a home - he can't wait to have his very own family! He is a talkative little boy who is the first to greet humans - he loves us! He is a healthy little boy who requires a B-12 injection monthly, but it is no big deal at all - he doesn't even notice!

We are so very heartbroken to report that on September 3, 2022, Tulsa left us. He had been experiencing diarrhea and poor appetite for a few days and an x-ray by his vet determined that he had developed intestinal cancer. We miss you so much, Tulsa. You were a beautiful boy and we will never forget you. We'll see you again. In the meantime, enjoy spending time with your DunRoamin' friends at Rainbow Bridge.

"Jedi" came to us on January 27, 2022 from the Arthurette area where he had been abandoned by his owner. As the people who were caring for him did not have adequate space, he came to us for help.

Jedi was born about November 22, 2019. He was initially very timid, but is doing well now, allowing his caregivers to coax him onto their laps while he keeps them company on their lunch breaks. He Tested FIV+, but that's no big deal. While he is segregated to ensure there is no chance of transmission between him and other DunRoamin' cats, there is a very small chance that this can happen and he is grateful for the company of his new friend, Crombie.

Jedi would like to live in a home where his human companions enjoy his company but are not necessarily put off by the fact that he is not extremely affectionate. He likes being in a room with people, but is not a lap cat - at least not yet! Jedi is looking forward to a home where he can live out the rest of his life and be loved and cared for - we all deserve that, don't we?

We are very sad to report that on the morning of July 22, 2022, Jedi left us. He will be missed by his room mates Crombie and Beau, and the entire staff of DunRoamin' is devastated to know that he won't greet us each morning. You were very well loved, Jedi, and we will miss you.

"Zenn" came to DunRoamin' on July 15, 2022 from the New Denmark area where he was found all alone. No one in that area could help him, so he came to us in order to survive. He was about three weeks old (born approximately June 24, 2022), but was not in good shape at all. He was dehydrated, emaciated, cold and had diarrhea. He desperately needed help. He was far too young to be away from his mother, so he now must be kept warm and fed by syringe around the clock by a human to ensure he can survive. He is very tiny and fits way too easily in the palm of our hand.

Zenn was examined by his new best vet friend and fostered by a compassionate veterinary technician from the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, as he required round-the-clock medical care. Thanks for helping this little one, Jayme. You are very much appreciated.

We are so sad to report that in the early morning hours of July 16, 2022, Zenn left us. Despite all medical care and the love he was provided, his little body was unable to sustain him. We are grateful you had some love, warmth and affection for at least a short time in your life, Zenn. We'll see you again at Rainbow Bridge, little guy, where you will meet so many wonderful DunRoamin' friends.

"Chiffon" originally came to us on September 3, 2010 from Glassville where she had been dropped at a location where people were unable to care for her. She was adopted to a wonderful home in Plaster Rock on February 24, 2012, but returned to us on February 20, when her best friend had to move into a special care home and was no longer able to care for her. Chiffon was diabetic, so therefore required insulin injections daily and a diabetic diet, but she had no problems with either.

Chiffon was born about July 25, 2010 and was a beautiful little girl. She was warm, loving, attentive and affectionate. On January 24, 2020, Chiffon was invited to be fostered with a very nice lady in Bath where she enjoyed the love and affection of her new foster mother and foster grandmother, as well as several other feline foster siblings, including one who also required insulin daily. She quickly became an integral and beloved member of the family.

We are sad to report that on March 29, 2022, Chiffon left us. She had developed a cancerous tumour which began to grow very rapidly and was causing her pain. We are grateful for her love and for the love of the family that cared so deeply for her. We'll see you again at Rainbow Bridge, Chiffon. Until then ...

"Legacy" came to DunRoamin' on November 10, 2021 from Woodstock.  Her owners were moving into an apartment that did not allow pets, so she had nowhere to go.  She was overweight, required a prescription diet of Urinary S/O food, had luxating patellas and required dental surgery with the possibility of extractions necessary.  She was born about April 28, 2009.

Sadly we learned that Legacy was in chronic failure. We are glad that we could give her lots of love, attention, affection and care in her last months.

We are sad to report that on February 9, 2022, Legacy left us. She will be missed by all her DunRoamin' friends. We will see you again at Rainbow Bridge, Legacy.

Day 1

Day 33

"Mordecai" came to DunRoamin' on November 15, 2019 from Perth-Andover where he had been a stray who had been hanging around for about a year.  Although people were feeding him at times, he had no one to care for him.  He had recently been noticed to be matted and have a hard time eating.

Mordecai was examined by his new vet and found to be in poor shape.  He tested positive for FIV and had moderate muscle wasting in much of his body.  He was dehydrated, matted, had ear mites and such severe dental disease that all his teeth had to be removed as roots were exposed, several were abscessed and many were already missing.   We've all had a toothache, but that must have HURT!

Mordecai was already neutered and was born about November 15, 2008.  We hoped to make the remainder of his life much more enjoyable than what he had obviously already been through.  He received all medical care required from his friends at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, he was a happy, loving, talkative little boy who loved company and he did well!  He loved to lay across the back of your shoulders while you worked on your computer or watched TV.  He was very interactive!!

On January 22, 2021, Mordecai was invited to be fostered by a very nice couple in Riceville while he awaited a permanent home but he developed medical issues which dictated that he be cared for by his loving vet tech foster mother, so he had been under her special care since March 26, 2021 where he was doing well.  He required observation, medication and IV fluids as necessary, but did well.  Thanks for taking care of him, Jayme.

We are sad to report that on January 25, 2022, Mordecai left us. He will be missed by his foster parents and all his DunRoamin' friends. We will see you again at Rainbow Bridge, Mordecai
