CARLETON COUNTY
SPAY/NEUTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(CC-SNAP)

The Carleton County Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (CC-SNAP) took place from
1 Jul 12 - 30 Jun 13

Approximately 225 cats were spayed or neutered, ensuring that they would not
contribute to the ongoing problem of pet overpopulation in our communities

Thanks to all who participated in, contributed to and supported this program

What is CC-SNAP?
CC-SNAP is a program designed to battle the cat over-population in Carleton County, New Brunswick by providing the financial assistance to spay and neuter cats from households most in need. Spay/neuter services are a vital part of the no-kill solution to the stray, homeless, and abandoned cat epidemic in Carleton County.

How can you be involved?
CC-SNAP will need continued financial support from members of the community to reduce cat over-population and homelessness that results in suffering of ownerless cats. You can help by Sponsoring a Spay through a monthly donation. Your donation goes directly toward helping low-income families afford spay/neuter srevices.

Spay and Neuter Assistance
CC-SNAP is providing assistance for residents of Carleton County, New Brunswick, who, due to financial limitations are unable to spay or neuter their cats. This program is made possible through funds raised by volunteers and donations to CC-SNAP by our supporters, as well as the generosity of participating veterinarians. Participating veterinarians, CC-SNAP, and cat owners will share the expense of each surgery. The pet owner will be required to pay only $45 for their share of the cat spay or neuter.

Are You Eligible?

How Do I Know If I Have Been Approved?
Your application will be evaluated as soon as it has been received. Once it is determined that you qualify for the program, you will be contacted by phone to set up an appointment at a participating veterinary service provider. Each approved applicant must have the cat's surgery completed within three months of the approval or the offer will expire.
Due to high demand you may be placed on a waiting list. If this happens you will be notified. Please be sure to include all valid contact information, including email if available, on your application form.

What Do I Do Once I Am Approved?

You will be contacted directly to book an appointment with a participating veterinary service provider. Remember that each offer expires three (3) months from the date that the application is approved. You will be required to pay for your share of the surgery ($45) at the time your cat is admitted into the hospital of the veterinary service provider. You may pay by cash, debit, MasterCard, or Visa. No personal cheques will be accepted and no credit will be extended. The veterinary hospital will bill CC-SNAP for the balance of the cost of the procedure.

If you need help with transportation to and from the veterinary hospital, volunteers will be available to pick up your cat, take him/her to the veterinary office and return your cat back home if necessary.

Important Notes
~ Surgery can be performed on cats 2.2 lbs and larger (ie: as young as about three months of age).
~ Additional services requested by the owner (ie: bloodwork, flea treatment, vaccinations, etc) must be paid for by the owner of the cat.
The CC-SNAP program is designed to help with the expense of spays and neuters only.
~ The veterinarian reserves the right to postpone surgery if the animal is not healthy enough to undergo the surgery.
Standard surgical waivers are required to be signed before cats are admitted into the veterinary hospital.
